We just released Episode 50!!! - the final episode before Jane and I take some time off for the summer! But stay tuned!…because we plan to host a LIVE episode in July!
Both Jane and I are so unbelievably grateful to be creating this podcast with each other, our inspiring guests (omg, we fall so in love with each one!), and our dear listeners. I don’t know about Jane, but when we record, I feel like we are surrounded by our incredible community of listeners much in the same way that I feel people’s loved ones in spirit gathering around them when I give a reading. It’s all about the love!
This past month we have had three incredible guests Andy Byng, Jo Taylor, and Joe Perreta! Each of these guests are so unique and different, offering me so much to think about.
And each of our guests, showing up in their own special way, got me to thinking about how I have regarded my own uniqueness. When I first started on my spiritual journey, leaning into the “we are all one” mentality felt so easy, innate. We are all inhabiting the same planet, breathing the same air, reliant on and reacting to each other. It made sense that we are all part of one organism, because we are! What was hard for me to appreciate, was the importance of individuation…specifically, my own.
My thinking was that if we are all one, why is it important for me to shine my little light? I was asking questions like: does the world really need another musician? Another writer/songwriter/poet? Podcaster? Medium? You name it! Can anyone else out there relate? Serving by taking care of my family and being a supporting figure felt like a purposeful life. But then I was getting phrases in my guided writing like: “become the fullest expression of yourself, you are limitless potential, your desire is sacred to your humanity.” Desire, folks!!!!
INDIVIDUATION is the POINT! And it’s not to say that being a supportive figure can’t be met with uniqueness, because it certainly can! But perhaps I was using it as an excuse not to put myself out there, to step into the unknown with my curiosity. Over this past year, I have been so inspired by the perspectives, insights, and uniqueness of everyone who I’ve met through this podcast.

Andy Byng, with his signature handle-bar mustache and glasses, sounds like he’s channeling the Divine with every word that he speaks in his charming British accent. As a young man in his 20’s, he knew that he needed to meditate and then knew, without a shadow of doubt, that he could communicate with Spirit. There’s not a ton of young guys out there who are so dedicated to the philosophy and history of Spiritualism. The way that Andy is in this world is a total gift to mediums, seekers, and loved ones in Spirit!
And thank goodness for Jo Taylor, the writer! Her book, Margaret of Thibodaux, artfully weaves mediumship into a coming-of-age novel normalizing metaphysical experiences! I gobbled this book up without even realizing I had been hungry for this type of novel! What struck me about talking with Jo, was that even though she’s fabulously gifted as a psychic medium, she feels called to focus on the more “human-y” experiences in this lifetime rather than the “spirit-y” ones. Our conversation left me so inspired to explore all the possibilities of being a spirit with a body!
And then we have Joe Perreta who is so charismatic, so funny, so charming and a bonkers-amazing psychic medium. Let’s get this guy his own Netflix show already! He is so authentic and real and you can see why Spirit trusts him to relay all the messages to their loved ones. I highly doubt he has any idea of the enormous ripple effect he’s made through his readings over the years. Life-changing for so many people!
In Ep 49, Jane and I talked about Awakening. Awakening to the fact that we are Spirit but also to the fact that we have chosen to incarnate as individuals with experiences that are snowflake/fingerprint-unique. In my guided writing I asked what I should know about awakening:
It is an appreciation For your unique essence Through which you experience The creation of that which you are And that which you in turn create You are awakened When you lean into the fullest expression Of your own divinity Accepting all parts of yourself And therefore of others Awakening is the continuous Compassion Love, and celebration For all that is
There is no perspective that is right! But every individual's unique perspective is special and important to the whole. So, this summer, may you enjoy expanding into your own individuation and take delight in those around you!
